High Rock Studios Teams Up with the Boys & Girls Club

High Rock Studios recently teamed up with the Boys & Girls Club of Washington County program to help students develop a new website for Children in Need, another local non-profit organization. During the months of May and June, the staff from High Rock took turns teaching students how to build a website from start and to finish.  The students designed the website on an iMac computer donated by Left Brain Foundation, an organization founded by High Rock Studios to help worthy local and regional causes. “Computer literacy is an important step toward bridging the digital divide,” said Founder and President Rich Daughtridge, “and we’re happy to help the Boys and Girls Clubs of Washington County develop technology skills in local kids.”

“High Rock has done an awesome job of providing our members with a fun, informative, and challenging program that helped open their eyes to the world of technology outside of their everyday life.  Our kids know how to play video games, surf the internet, and manipulate other types of electronic entertainment and now they also have a basic understanding of how to create technologies,” said Buck Browning, director of development for the Club.  “This program was a hands-on lesson for our children that could lead them into a totally new career path that they never dreamed of prior to High Rock’s involvement,” he added.  

The website design was presented at the Boys & Girls Club’s Annual Dinner on Thursday, May 21st and officially launched on Tuesday, June 2nd. The new website is located at www.childreninneedwashingtoncounty.org.
